Probiotics: More Important Than Vitamins?
Well, I don’t know if I would go that far as to say that probiotics are more important than vitamins, but they certainly are important! That’s because they do so many thing for your health. Did you know that probiotics can actually manufacture some of the vitamins you need if you have a good supply of them in your gut?

What Are Probiotics?
Probiotic means ‘for life’, just as antibiotic is ‘against life’. Probiotics are tiny microscopic bacteria that naturally predominate in your intestines. When you are born, you don’t actually have that many of these intestinal flora, but they get build up quite a bit by the age of 12 months. Two of the most common probiotics in a healthy gut include:
- acidolphilus
- bifidobacteria

Probiotics Benefits
Probiotics can have many benefits, they can help with all sorts of digestive ills: constipation, nausea and gas. They also can give you more energy, and boost your immune system. A gut filled with those good bacteria will be able to make B vitamins as well as vitamin K. Probiotics can help you to better digest your food, as well as to assimilate the nutrients you are taking in.
If you have problems with an excess of yeast in your gut (candida), or other bad bacteria or parasites, probiotics can be especially beneficial to you.

Probiotic Foods
One of the best ways to make sure that you have enough probiotics is to eat a lot of probiotic foods.
Probiotic Supplements
If you are having health problems that may be related to a deficiency of probiotics in your gut, taking a good probiotic supplement can help you a lot faster than just eating probiotic foods. But you have to select your probiotics carefully, as many of them are simply not that potent by the time they get to you.
One we highly recommend is Flora Source:

Probiotics Side Effects
Probiotics don’t really have any side effects, per se, but if you take too many of them, you can have some problems caused by the good bacteria gobbling up the bad bacteria in your gut, like nausea, bloating, gas and fatigue. So if you experience any of this, just cut back on your probiotics and ramp up more slowly.
