Whey Protein Isolate -
The Best Whey Protein to Boost Your Health?

Many so-called experts today are recommending whey protein isolate, vs the whey protein concentrate form.  But they may be misguided for several reasons.

What is Whey Protein Isolate?

Whey Protein Isolate - Damaged Protein?

Whey Protein Concentrate - Better for Your Health?

Do You Actually Need the Fat From the Whey?

Whey protein isolate is simply a more processed whey protein powder that has been filtered to remove most of the fat.  This means that it is  a more concentrated source of protein, and can be almost fat free, cholesterol free, carbohydrate free and even lactose free. Whey protein isolate is normally 90% or higher pure protein.  But is that a good deal?

Is Whey Protein Isolate Damaging Your Health?

Whey Protein Isolate:  Damaged Protein

Most whey protein isolates have been acid processed, and this acid processing can damage the fragile proteins.  In addition, these protein isolates have had their proteins separated from some of the nutritional cofactors that your body needs to assimilate them.  This means they will not be as much use to your body as the whey protein concentrate form is.

Isolates - Fat and Immune Factors Removed

Isolates are also often made from pastuerized dairy, and have the fat removed from them.  Some people have the mistaken idea that low fat is good, not only do fats have a very important role in the body, but in this case you actually need to fat to help your body use the protein.  In addition, many important components of the whey that help to boost immune function as also removed.  For example, IgG immunoglobulins are bound to the fat, and removed right along with the fat.

Isolates - Over-Processed Whey is Inferior

It is clear that when you over-process, as with whey protein isolate, you will get an inferior whey protein powder.  So, we highly recommend that you use whey protein concentrate instead - from grass fed cows - undenatured - and from raw unpasteurized milk.

Why We Recommend Whey Protein Concentrate Instead
Better For Your Health!

Whey Protein Concentrate - No Damaged Proteins?

While the inherent processing of whey protein concentrate, unlike whey protein isolate, does not damage the fragile proteins, sometimes a high heat is used which does denature the amino acids.  So you still need to find a whey protein concentrate that does NOT use a high heat process, and makes their whey from raw, unpasteurized milk.

Whey Protein Concentrate - Contains the Fat Necessary to Utilize the Protein

Whey protein concentrate also contains the fat that is found in the original whey (which is not a lot, but is needed).  This fat is necessary in order for your body to utilize the protein, and also contains the immune-boosting components that are so beneficial for your immune system health.  If your whey comes from grass fed cows, it will also contain healthy fat like CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) that has been found have anti-cancer properties, be able to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, and may help reduce your body fat as well.

Action Whey Protein ConcentrateSo look for a whey protein powder that comes from concentrate and sweet whey, closer to the original product and better for your health.
